The Trump administration is attempting to expand offshore drilling and roll back protections for life-sustaining marine areas, threatening sea turtles, whales, corals, fish and communities who rely on a healthy ocean for their food and livelihoods.
Our ocean is already under stress from climate change, and our leaders are piling on by undermining decades of hard-won progress for healthy fisheries and marine conservation.
These threats demand long-term solutions and sustained support. EDF won't stop fighting for ocean research and sustainable fisheries. But our ability to defend progress against relentless attacks depends on steady support from monthly donors.
Start a monthly gift now and your support will go three times as far, every month for a year, to help protect our ocean, defend hard-won progress and fight climate change.
Triple your impact: Unlock your 200% match to protect our environment.

When you start a monthly gift, your support will help empower fishers around the world to build a positive future for our ocean and coastal communities. Here are a few ways EDF is advancing innovative solutions along with fishers and other partners:
# Allocating secure, long-term fishing rights so fishers and communities see how their conservation actions result in their share of the fishery growing over time.
# Creating the Climate Resilient Fisheries Toolkit for communities, managers and scientists to improve fisheries and marine conservation outcomes.
# Fostering a collaboration hub for small-scale fishers in more than 190 countries to develop connections, share ideas and engage in policy issues.
# Developing the Ocean Futures platform in partnership with World Wildlife Fund to identify hotspots of potential future ocean conflict due to climate change, warming waters and shifting fish stocks.
# Advancing science to understand the ocean carbon cycle and develop ways to protect the world’s coastal and ocean ecosystems that store carbon.
To help keep this critical work going, we're aiming to raise $250,000 by midnight July 31. Over 2,300 EDF members have already put us 84% of the way there! Will you be the next to commit to protecting our ocean and fighting climate change every month? Donate here:
