Hey Team,

Right now, Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger is preparing to purge the voter registrations of nearly half a million voters, and he’s backed by Georgia Republicans and MAGA extremists.

They’re claiming that this is “routine maintenance”; but this purge is using bad data so we know it is likely wrongfully removing many people from the voter rolls.

Previous voter purges in Georgia have removed thousands of eligible voters, and historically, we’ve seen purges disproportionately impact Black and brown voters. This one is no different.

Team, let’s be honest here: Purges are a form of both voter suppression and voter intimidation.

The team at Fair Fight knows that more attacks on voting freedom are coming from Georgia Republicans and MAGA cronies everywhere. Will you donate to fuel our efforts and ensure we’re prepared to fight back?

As Fair Fight Founder Stacey Abrams puts it:

"Many of us grew up with the stories of the civil rights movement and voter suppression of the '60s, guns and dogs and hoses…The voter suppression in the 21st century is administrative."

This is exactly what’s happening right now in Georgia.

The purge list consists of voters who are registered in Georgia and have been marked as inactive for various reasons — people who may have moved out of Georgia, out-of-state college students, members of the military, or even frequent, long-time Georgia voters who missed out on voting in any recent elections.

If a voter has been placed on the inactive list by the Georgia Secretary of State’s office, and does not contact their county office to be reactivated, they will be removed from the voter rolls by August 20th.

Voting shouldn’t require jumping through hoops to ensure access to the ballot.

We need pro-voter, pro-democracy leaders in office who are focused on expanding voting freedom — not restricting it. Chip in to Fair Fight now so we can continue combatting voter suppression efforts in Georgia and across the South >> [[link removed]]

In solidarity,

Fair Fight
