The Trump administration’s cuts to Medicaid and food benefits are an attack on working people. That’s not efficiency — it’s cruelty.

Across Pennsylvania, hundreds of thousands of people rely on Medicaid to access life-saving care — especially seniors, people with disabilities, low-income workers, and children. 

And now, because of Washington’s reckless budget, nearly 12 million people nationwide are expected to lose their coverage.

Earlier this month, I was proud to join Congressman Chris Deluzio, State Representative Mandy Steele, advocates, and caregivers to say what should be obvious: our communities cannot afford this.

Harrisburg doesn’t have a magic pot of money to fix what Trump and Congressional Republicans broke. Just setting up the bureaucracy to enforce these cruel new work requirements could cost the state millions. All for a policy designed to make care harder to access.
