Over the past few months, I've been fighting for the priorities the people of WA-08 care most about, and frankly: It's been extraordinarily frustrating trying to do anything under Republican leadership.

While I've been focused on real solutions for WA-08—like the bipartisan Hydropower Relicensing Transparency Act Bill I just got passed to speed up clean energy projects and secure funding for safer roads and clean water, or the work I did to call out RFK Jr.'s dangerous conspiracies, and even my efforts to protect healthcare for working families and seniors—Speaker Mike Johnson and the Trump-loyal, GOP-controlled Congress have been hell-bent on doing the exact opposite.

Speaker Johnson and far-right Republicans just passed Trump's request to take away over $9 BILLION in already approved federal funding for disaster relief, refugee support, and public broadcasting like NPR, PBS, and over 1,500 local TV and radio stations that are particularly critical in rural areas.

john: As your elected officials, we made a promise to the American people when we passed a budget back in March that helped fund Public Broadcasting. And extremists just broke that promise in order to curry favor with President Trump and the special interests that support their campaigns.

I'm doing everything I can in Congress to keep the government working for the people of WA-08. But to end House Republicans' unprecedented, line-crossing, hyper-partisan leadership, we need to win back the House in 2026—and we can’t do it without protecting the most vulnerable districts in Congress, like this one.
