Friend,
On the campaign trail and in the White House, President Trump has made some big promises to bring back American jobs. At one point, he even promised to create 25 million new jobs.
How is that working out? Well, his "Big, Beautiful Bill" directly breaks that promise by putting 1.75 million construction jobs at risk. One major union called it "the biggest job-killing bill in the history of the country." All those lost jobs translate to $148 billion in lost annual wages and benefits.
And it's not just construction jobs at risk. His signature legislative achievement would also roll back clean energy and advanced manufacturing tax credits, undermining a growing domestic industry and jeopardizing an additional 2 million American jobs. If just a few more of my Republican colleagues had stood up to Trump, we could have prevented this White House from "sabotaging the fastest growth sector of the American economy."
Republicans love to talk about jobs on the campaign trail, but they seem to forget those promises as soon as they get to Washington. Let's keep them honest this time.
