Good morning, dear friends!

I hope this letter finds you well and happy. We are on the first day of a heatwave here in our little corner of North Carolina, and let me tell you, I've never been more grateful to have an apartment with a pool. The heat index today is to be a whopping 111 degrees! What the heck?

We visited a new-to-us library this week. It was on the edge of a wooded park and surrounded by luscious beds of tall wildflowers. It was a smaller library than the one we went to when we were living right downtown, but it was loaded with books I haven't read, and really, that's all that matters to me! I loaded up with my weekly RDA and am stocked with new novels for the near future.

The price of groceries remains out of control. I truly cannot believe the level of expense we're seeing at the stores for things like beef and produce. Our budget is pretty tight, so ground turkey it is for us this week! Aldi had a sale on it, and we loaded our freezer with it. My daughter isn't really a fan of ground turkey, but I've found that cooking it with a little beef bouillon paste adds a richness of flavor that makes it far more palatable to her. (Better Than Bouillon is my favorite brand - it's very high quality and a little goes a long way.)

It's been a tough week for me with some health stuff, and I'll have more information after I see a specialist on August 15th. After finally feeling like I'm getting a handle on being disabled, the idea that there is more physical damage present is a lot to deal with. The mental aspect is just about worse than the physical pain, which is pretty extreme. Anyway, I hate to be vague, but until I have definite answers, I'd rather not go into a lot of detail, so I'll stop here. Prayers, good wishes, and whatever positive vibes you have to spare are quite welcome.

This weekend, we're having a printable sale, and you can grab your favorites for as low as $1!

Check out our store right here:

Enhance your prepper binder, grab some coloring pages, and conduct inventories using our colorful lists and templates. Thank you for your support! Every dollar helps to keep us afloat!

I'm loving your feedback for the most recent chapter of Haven Hill! There are plot twists ahead, so stay tuned in! I really like the application of prepper skills in a non-apocalyptic way. I know that prepper skills have served me well many times, and what better way to display this than an adventure story?

I hope that you have a lovely Sunday planned. Keep cool, keep calm, and don't let the stress of the world take away your peace.

Stay safe.

Be happy.

Love,

Daisy
