Hi John,
Republicans know Michigan's 8th Congressional District could be their ticket to keeping the House. And they're already on the attack.
Donald Trump's super PAC is spending $800,000 on TV ads targeting Rep. Kristen McDonald Rivet. That's more than any other House Democrat has faced this cycle.
Why? Because Rivet did something remarkable. She won her race by nearly 7 points in a district that Trump carried. And she's been fighting for working families from day one.
But we can't afford to take her re-election for granted.
Here's what we're up against:
- Trump won this district in 2024
- The GOP is spending early and big
- Their lies are already all over the air in Flint
Early support will be key to defending Rivet's seat and flipping the House. This is the kind of race where early grassroots action makes all the difference. We know because the Swing Left community was key in supporting her winning campaigns for a state senate seat in 2022 and a U.S. House seat in 2024.
