John,
Earlier this week, we asked what you think Congress should be focusing on right now.
We got a FLOOD of responses, but we’re still missing yours! Can you take a minute and complete our Priority Issue survey?

We’ve found common themes in the responses we’ve received so far:
Medicaid and the Big Bad Bill
I am very afraid of the impact of SNAP and Medicaid cuts in our community. Food insecurity is already a huge problem, and I don’t see how local donations will be able to bridge the gap.
— Supporter in Bainbridge Island
I hate the new 'Big Beautiful Bill' that Congress passed. I know Emily did everything she could to stop it, but I find it unforgivable that the republicans are willing to support tax cuts for the rich while cutting funding and programs for the poor.
— Supporter in Port Hadlock
The actions of ICE
Stop Trump's illegal immigration actions. No more picking people up, wearing masks, and sending them off to other countries. So illegal. So terrible!
— Supporter in Gig Harbor
ICE should not be allowed to wear masks or arrest persons without proper identification.
— Supporter in Cosmopolis
The climate crisis
Depoliticize climate change and restore funding for alternative energy, conservation, climate science, and disaster response. This should not be partisan. Why does the GOP keep their head in the sand? Fossil Fool money?
— Supporter in Port Angeles
The world is burning/flooding/drying up. Without a healthy planet, all the politics in the world will be moot. These silly things, like renaming buildings, distract from the big issues.
— Supporter in Port Orchard
Taking on Trump and the GOP
Republicans in Congress have conceded their authority to Trump to evade responsibility. I understand their fear of primary challenges, but if they don’t want to do the job, they should find another job.
— Supporter in Tacoma
Democrats need to be less mannerly. I'm tired of taking the high road and losing.
— Supporter in Port Angeles
Too many elected Dems have weak voices or none. Holding back until the midterms is a bad plan. Democracy is falling. Please be strong. We need you!
— Supporter in Seattle
Use every technique and tool necessary to move our country back to a democracy. No more playing by 200-year-old rules. You must learn how to fight the fight effectively so that democracy endures.
— Supporter in Poulsbo
Those are the issues some of your neighbors are concerned about – how about you?
Please take a minute to take the survey and let us know what you think Congress should focus on right now → [[link removed]]

Hi John, it’s Emily — and today, I’m asking for your opinion.

YES, we read these responses, and YES, they are extremely helpful as we plan our strategy for the rest of the year, both inside and outside Congress.
I’ve had hundreds of conversations with folks across Washington’s 6th District. Lately, it feels like we're being pulled in a million directions:
• There’s the Big Bad Bill, the Big Betrayal, the Big S****y Bill — whatever name you give it, it will have a devastating effect on our health care system, especially rural hospitals that rely on Medicaid funding.
• There’s the continuing corruption and abuse of power in the Trump administration. I’ve been investigating Elon Musk’s conflicts of interest at the Department of Transportation.
• And there’s ICE sending masked agents into our communities to arrest our neighbors with no due process and the SHAMEFUL conditions at detention centers like “Alligator Alcatraz.”
Those are a few of the things at the top of my mind this week — but what about you?
Please take a minute to fill out our July Issue Survey. I can’t speak to all of you one-on-one, so these online surveys are incredibly helpful → [[link removed]]
