$67 MILLION FOR LOCAL INFRASTRUCTURE

I'm thrilled to share that $67 million for 41st District infrastructure projects was included in the FY26 Transportation and HUD Appropriations Bill, which was approved by the Appropriations Committee last week. I’m proud to work together with our local leaders to identify and fund projects that will make an impact in reducing traffic congestion, improving water quality, and enhancing our local airports. As a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee, I will continue to fight to return the tax dollars my constituents send to Washington, D.C. back here to make a difference in my district.

Here are the projects included in the bill:

  • $5.6 million for the Cook Street Bridge Project in Palm Desert
  • $1.7 million for the Corona Trails Improvement Project
  • $5 million for the French Valley Airport Contract Control Tower Project
  • $5 million for the Indian Canyon Drive Project in Palm Springs
  • $5 million for the I-10 Singleton Road Interchange Project in Calimesa
  • $5 million for the I-15 Express Lanes Southern Extension Project
  • $8 million for the Lake Elsinore Water Quality Project
  • $4 million for the Magnolia Avenue Widening Project in Corona
  • $2.5 million for the Norco Recycled Water Distribution and Transmission Mainline Project

HISTORIC TAX RELIEF

Image

I just wrote an op-ed that was published by the Desert Sun newspaper highlighting the various tax benefits in the recently enacted working family tax law that was passed by Congress. As I wrote, “this new law protects our seniors, reinforces the value of work, protects our most vulnerable populations, and will expand economic opportunities for…working families.”

BOWOW ACT

Image

Freddie, a Customs and Border Protection detection dog, was assaulted by a traveler from Egypt last month at Dulles Airport. Animals, like Freddie, work every day to keep us safe - that's why I believe we owe it to Freddie to do our best to keep him safe too. I just introduced the BOWOW Act, H.R. 4638, that will make these kinds of assaults a deportable offense. Click HERE to read more.

EASTVALE ZIP CODE UPDATE

Image

Good news! The House of Representatives passed a bipartisan bill this week requiring the U.S. Postal Service to designate a single, unique ZIP Code for the city of Eastvale. This has been a bipartisan effort I have worked on together with Rep. Norma Torres (D-CA), who also represents a portion of Eastvale.  The passage of this bill moves Eastvale residents and small businesses closer toward the single, unique ZIP Code they have been seeking. As we have heard, establishing a single, unique ZIP Code for Eastvale is important for the city’s identity, GPS directions, insurance rates, the collection of sales taxes, and other factors. I’m thankful for the bipartisan efforts of Rep. Torres and my House colleagues who have supported this legislation. Click HERE to read more.
