U.S. Sen. Katie Britt: The One Big Beautiful Bill delivers for Alabama

The week of Independence Day, the U.S. Senate took on the tall order of
passing President Trump’s sweeping domestic policy package – the One Big
Beautiful Bill. After more than 26 hours of voting, the Senate passed the bill,
which was then sent to the House of Representatives for final passage. On July
4, Trump signed it into law.
Needless to say, it was a busy – but very rewarding – week.
There’s been a lot of national conversation about how transformational this
bill is. But let’s talk about what it means for Alabama.

Katie Britt: Space Command HQ’s return to Alabama is imminent – ‘it’s a matter
of weeks’

U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) is expressing continued confidence
that the U.S. Space Command headquarters will be relocated to Huntsville after
years of political controversy and bureaucratic delays.
In 2023, then President Joe Biden announced that the Space Command HQ would
remain in Colorado despite the Air Force Secretary identifying Redstone Arsenal
as the best site just two years earlier.

Sen. Britt advances more than $14 million in funding for Alabama

Senator Katie Britt, R-Alabama, a member of the Senate Committee on
Appropriations, joined her colleagues Tuesday in advancing the Fiscal Year 2026
Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies Appropriations Act through the
Senate Committee on Appropriations. The bill will now need to be considered by
the full Senate before heading to the U.S. House of Representatives.
In the bill, Britt directly secured more than $14.4 million to support local
law enforcement, fund important programs at universities across the state, and
for beneficial-use projects and sediment flow studies at the Port of Mobile.
