John, we won!
Yesterday, New Yorkers showed up and voted for these powerful voices for truth: Dana Balter, Jamaal Bowman, Mondaire Jones, and Ritchie Torres.
While I want to congratulate these Truth to Power candidates, I also need to acknowledge that our work is far from done.
That's because Truth to Power candidate Candace Valenzuela has her primary coming up in just a few weeks. And, now that they won their primaries, we have to help Dana, Jamaal, Mondaire, and Ritchie, as well as Ammar Campa-Najjar, win in November so they can advance to Congress.
Helping candidates like these win are why we're building this movement. With your support, we're going to elect more candidates to Congress who don't bend to power, but instead fight for the people.
After last night's victories, momentum is on the side of the people — but we need to keep it going. Especially because, after these victories, we know that deep-pocketed special interests are lining up to stop these Truth to Power candidates from making it to Congress.
