In 2024, CA-13 was the closest House race in the country. Democrat Adam Gray won by just 187 votes—a 0.09% margin in a district that Trump carried by over 5 points.
That’s not just close. It goes to show that every door knock, every phone call, and every letter can make all the difference in must-hold districts like CA-13.
And the Swing Left community was a part of it the whole way: organizing across the Central Valley, writing over 43,000 letters, running GOTV buses, knocking nearly 128,000 doors, and raising more than $238,000. That work made the difference.
But here's the thing: we have to do it all over again—and then some.
This district didn't just stay close. It moved right in 2024. That means we're defending a Democrat in Trump country, and early investments in organizing will be the difference between keeping Adam Gray in Congress or handing this seat back to Republicans.
