Woohoo! A US District Court Tells Trump, “Oh No You Medi-can’t!”
Judge Indira Talwani in Boston just blocked the Trump administration’s latest stunt to gut abortion access—this time, a Medicaid funding ban buried in a tax law. The rule would’ve cut off reimbursements to any clinic that provides abortions and had the audacity to serve over $800,000 worth of low-income patients last year. In other words, if you’re helping too many people and also don’t hate abortions, the government thinks you deserve to be punished. While many clinics could still lose funding while the fight drags on, we’ll celebrate any win that pisses off the anti-abortion ghouls cosplaying as fiscal conservatives.

You Shoulda Put A Ring On It If You Want Prenatal Care
An OB-GYN in Tennessee turned back time to the Dark Ages, and last week used the newly minted Medical Ethics Defense Act to deny prenatal care to a 35-year-old woman simply for being unmarried. The law, which just took effect on April 24, gives practitioners the legal green light to dodge patients whose lifestyles they disapprove of, because marital status apparently trumps medical ethics. She now has to flee Tennessee to Virginia just to get basic check‑ups.

While Tennessee’s legislators bleat on about protecting conscience and expanding rural care, the OB‑GYN pipeline is shrinking, maternal mortality is soaring, and hospitals are being strangled by Medicaid cuts. We believe this is what you call “pro-life in name only.”
