Last weekend, I joined thousands of proud and joyful Oregonians for our annual Portland Pride Parade. The streets were packed with energetic crowds! It was wonderful to see so many people of all backgrounds and ages standing up for freedom and LGBTQIA+ rights. This joy is how we resist discrimination and hate in our fight for a better future.

With all of the attacks on the LGBTQIA+ community, we must fight back against discriminatory laws and practices. I'm standing in solidarity with our LGBTQIA+ friends, family, and neighbors, and against people who want to overturn marriage equality, deny basic rights, and harass kids.

Everyone deserves to live freely as their authentic selves. I strongly support the Equality Act, and I recently introduced legislation to help LGBTQIA+ Americans age and retire with dignity and security, free from discrimination.

I'll never stop fighting for equality in Congress. Let's get it done.
