Team,

Despite Elon Musk spending millions to help Republicans flip a Wisconsin Supreme Court seat this past spring, Judge Susan Crawford won the highly contested race.

This victory helped cement a pro-democracy majority in the state’s highest court. And earlier this month, we saw exactly why that matters:

“Wisconsin Supreme Court strikes down state’s 1849 abortion ban”
— July 2, 2025

The NDRC is proud to have been a part of this fight. A.G. Holder spent time in Wisconsin campaigning for her because she’s been a fair, impartial jurist who has dedicated her career to protecting the rights, freedoms, and safety of all Americans.

Team: This is what happens when we elect Democracy Defenders to office. Principles of equality and justice prevail. The truth is, people can only tap into our fullest political power when we have fair representation.

The NDRC is leading the fight for fair maps in Wisconsin and nationwide. We face critical state-level elections in the months ahead — make a donation and help elect more Democracy Defenders and power this critical work to strengthen our democracy >> [[link removed]]

Wisconsin has been at the center of our work since we launched the NDRC. From the start, it was abundantly clear that the state was governed by illegitimate minority rule.

For more than a decade, conservatives held control of the Supreme Court, while Republican Governor Scott Walker and his allies had egregiously gerrymandered the state legislature to create artificially large GOP majorities in spite of growing support for Democrats across the state.

But the people of Wisconsin didn’t let those extreme tactics happen without a fight, and the NDRC joined them in a relentless effort to bring fairness back to the state. In the last two years, we’ve been able to help re-elect Democratic Governor Tony Evers and finally flip the majority of the state supreme court. And thanks to those tireless efforts, new, fair legislative maps are now in place, creating a path to win majorities in 2026.

We’ve seen what’s possible in Wisconsin, and now, it’s on us to fight across the country. Over the next two years, we’re investing in critical elections that will shape the future of fair maps across at least 13 states. By electing pro-democracy champions at the state level in 2025 and 2026, we can prevent mid-decade gerrymandering and build a foundation for fair and independent redistricting following the release of the 2030 Census data.

Fighting gerrymandering and nefarious anti-democracy efforts requires consistent investment over the short and long term. Will you donate to the NDRC today and fuel these efforts to create a democracy that’s representative of all Americans? [[link removed]]
