Hi John,
I’m Candy Emmons, and I just stepped into the role of Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Oregon. I’ve spent nearly a decade at the DPO, and I want to tell you why I’m in this fight—and why I’m asking you to join me.
I grew up the child of teen parents in a trailer park in Salem. Our family scraped by, paycheck to paycheck. But Democrats were there for us, fighting for programs that helped us hold on through hard times.
Thanks to those Democratic policies, I wasn’t just able to survive. I was able to thrive.
Now, I’m paying that forward.
This party gave me opportunity, dignity, and a future—and it’s our job to make sure that promise is still real for every Oregonian. That’s why we’re already organizing in every corner of the state. It’s why we’re preparing to re-elect Governor Tina Kotek, Senator Jeff Merkley, and Representatives Suzanne Bonamici, Andrea Salinas, Val Hoyle, Maxine Dexter, and Janelle Bynum, and elect Democrats at every level in 2026.
But Republicans are coming for Oregon with over $500 million in outside PAC money. They want to buy our school boards, our state legislature, and our values out from under us.
We won’t let them.
Can you make a contribution today to power grassroots organizing across Oregon?
