This Thursday, June 25, at 8 p.m. Eastern/5 p.m. Pacific, we will discuss how we center racial justice in our Medicare for All resolutions organizing. R.S.V.P. to join us.

Dear John:

I hope you had a celebratory and grounding Juneteenth weekend, whether you were out with your community or at home watching via livestream. People’s Action heard and is answering the call from the Movement for Black Lives to center Black people in our organizing.

We have seen what happens to our communities when Black lives are not valued. Black people are dying at disproportionately higher rates from COVID-19, so corporations are pushing to reopen our economy before it is safe to do so, knowing that it’s disproportionately Black lives that will be sacrificed.

Our individual health relies on the health of the person next to us, and the person next to them. Yet, we have yet to see real solutions that meet the scale of the COVID-19 crisis to ensure everyone can get the health care we need in the pandemic.

This Thursday, June 25, at 8 p.m. Eastern/5 p.m. Pacific, we will discuss how we center racial justice in our Medicare for All resolutions organizing. R.S.V.P. to join us.

National leaders including Hilary Shelton, the head of the NAACP’s Washington Bureau, Dr. Sanjeev Sriram from the Social Security Works All Means All Campaign and I will discuss how we keep racial justice at the center of our organizing for Medicare for All.

We’ll also hear from local leaders–including Knoxville City Council Member Amelia Parker, who sponsored a Medicare for All resolution that was passed by the council–to share perspectives on how we move this work forward in our communities.

Join us to learn about what you can do to help us win, as we build towards a just health care system that centers and values Black lives.

Stay healthy and safe,

Connie Huynh
