Good afternoon.

From the beginning, I’ve said that Los Angeles is being used as a test case by the Trump administration, and I’m doing everything I can to ensure that experiment ends here.

The withdrawal of 2,000 National Guards and 700 Marines from our city was a victory. But this fight isn’t over — that’s why I’m demanding answers. I signed an executive directive under the Freedom of Information Act to hold ICE and the Trump administration accountable to the people of Los Angeles.

Who are these masked men going around our city, snatching people off the streets? Where are the people they are detaining?

Taxpayers deserve to know how much money was wasted on these raids across the country, and families deserve answers on where their loved ones are — end of story.

Trump and Republicans can spin harmful rhetoric all they want, but we know who helped build our city. Immigrants are a crucial part of Los Angeles’s history and future, and I will always fight for them
