John,
The UK government announced last week that it would lower the voting age to 16.
In Canada, a senator, Marilou McPhedran, tabled a bill in May to do the same thing.

I think that’s a very bad idea.
I know some 16-year-olds who are very well informed and who follow politics closely.
But most aren’t interested at all and couldn’t care less. Young adults are the age group that is least likely to vote at elections.
But that’s not the main issue.
You should have had some experience of life, held responsibilities, and be mature enough to be given the right to vote.
Even 18 is still pretty young, and it’s only in 1970 that the voting age in Canada was lowered from 21 to 18.
It’s ridiculous to think that a group of people who aren’t considered old enough to buy a beer – legal drinking age in Canada is 18 or 19 depending on the province – could have an influence on how the country is run!
I suspect that this just is another attempt by Liberals to artificially increase their electoral support – like they did by importing millions of immigrants.
They probably believe that most 16- and 17-year-olds will vote for them, after having been brainwashed with green, woke leftist propaganda since they started school.
The Left is losing the arguments – that’s why they resort to hijacking all our institutions and manipulating our democratic rules to keep themselves in power!
John, we can’t let them get away with it.
The PPC will oppose this bill.
Help us with a $10 donation today if you believe the rules of our democracy shouldn’t be manipulated to favour one side or another.
