Dear Friends,
My invitation to this conversation with Peter Beinart, renowned journalist
and commentator in the world of Israel-Palestine, sparked a great deal of
interest, [ [link removed] ]and I wanted to be sure you didn’t miss the recording >>
We don’t agree on everything – Peter's broken from Zionism entirely, and I
still believe that my liberal values and my belief in a state that is the
national home of the Jewish people can be reconciled.
At the end of the day, we both want a future rooted in freedom, dignity
and safety for Palestinians and Israelis. That kind of shared ground
matters more than ever, especially as too many in our own community stay
silent or look away.
If you want to see more conversations like these in the future – reaching
across divides and finding common ground – I hope you’ll consider creating
a Substack account and subscribing to me on Word on the Street.

If there’s one thing I took from our discussion, it’s this: Dialogue
across differences is vital. We need to engage with views with which we
disagree and not shut them out. If we keep lines of communication open, we
will find the areas where we do agree and open our minds to thoughts and
ideas we have not considered. [ [link removed] ]I hope you enjoy our exchange, and
subscribe to stay in the loop >>
Hope you can tune in,
Jeremy Ben-Ami

J Street is the political home for pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democracy
Americans who want Israel to be secure, democratic and the national home of the
Jewish people. Working in American politics and the Jewish community, we
advocate policies that advance shared US and Israeli interests as well as Jewish
and democratic values, leading to a two-state solution to the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
