Gov. Kotek launches new agency to fast-track housing construction
We have to find bold, new solutions to tackle our housing crisis in order to meet the goal that we’ve set to get 36,000 new homes built each year. The Housing Accountability and Production Office will act as a liaison between developers, local governments, and state agencies to streamline funding for affordable housing.

Governor Kotek Takes Action to Ban Cell Phones in Schools So Students Can Focus on Learning, Not Scrolling
Governor Kotek issued an executive order this month that will get phones out of classrooms so that our students can get a distraction-free, high-quality education in classrooms across Oregon. The research has been clear: cell phone use during school hours creates a disastrous trifecta of consequences for students — this order reaffirms Tina’s commitment to schools that truly prepare our students for the future.
