I love connecting with new people and sharing Outright International’s work—and that of our partners—to protect and uplift LGBTIQ communities worldwide. This work isn’t just professional; it’s deeply personal.
I’ve found joy and purpose in building a world where everyone can live safely, freely, and equally. But sometimes I hear: “Your work sounds important, but LGBTIQ issues aren’t a philanthropic priority for me (us).”

* LGBTIQ people are among the most marginalized. Many still face daily threats—from job loss and housing insecurity to violence and rejection. In times of crisis, queer communities are often left behind.
* LGBTIQ people deserve equal economic opportunity. Exclusion because of homophobia, transphobia, and other systemic barriers can cost nations up to 1% of GDP, while inclusion boosts resilience.
* LGBTIQ movements are drastically underfunded. Less than 39 cents of every $100 in foundation giving supports LGBTIQ causes—with even less reaching the Global South and East. Meanwhile, hundreds of millions in funding are being cut.
The need has never been more urgent. With the current crackdown on human rights and slide toward authoritarianism, I hope you will include LGBTIQ causes in your giving now. With our global reach and impact, Outright International is the perfect place to start. ([link removed])
