JOHN,

I want you to hear this from me.

Last week House Republicans voted to strip more than $1 billion in federal funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). They are gutting public media, plain and simple.

This was a rescission bill. What does that mean? It was Trump asking Congress to reclaim money that had already been approved for federal spending by Congress. Republicans in Congress rubber-stamped Trump’s unnecessary cuts once again to put working Americans last.

Now, millions of Americans will see their public news sources cut back: PBS, NPR, local news stations, children’s programs, and more. Public broadcasting is how 73% of Americans get emergency alerts, weather updates, and public safety information.

With this funding cut, rural and local public news stations will struggle to operate. Republicans are leaving whole communities of Americans behind without timely news and alerts — updates that could be life-saving in emergency situations.

The vote in the House was so close: 216-213. Flipping the House in 2026 means we have to protect every seat we have, including this one.

The fight for the midterms has already begun, JOHN, and I want you on board with me. Will you contribute $10 or more and make sure we win the House majority in 2026?
