Mark sent out the call to action. He needs your support on his new initiative, Go for Broke for Veterans, so we can elect more members of Congress who take care of our veterans, from protecting the VA from privatization to stopping for-profit colleges from taking advantage of our vets.
The stakes have never been higher: the numbers of vets in Congress has steadily decreased to only 96. We can change that in November, but only if we have your buy-in now.

Hi there –
I’m excited to tell you about a new initiative that I (along with some of my colleagues in the Veterans’ Affairs Committee) am starting to support the election of veterans and those who support vets to Congress.
Representation is the first step in making progress for any group – and our nation’s heroes are no exception. There are only 96 members of Congress with military experience.
We can make things better for our military service members and vets, but only if they are represented and supported fully in our highest offices.
That’s why we’ve set an ambitious goal of raising $10,000 as we launch this mission. Please, will you chip in $10 or whatever you can by midnight on Wednesday?

Go for Broke for Veterans is named after my great-uncle’s Japanese American combat team in the Second World War. It is a cause that is extremely important not just to those of us who spend our days in-office fighting for members of our armed forces, but for the broader veteran community.
We know that veterans are facing more hardships than ever with the coronavirus pandemic. With your help, we can succeed in our mission of getting them the support they deserve come November.

Thanks,
Mark
Named for his great uncle’s World War II Japanese-American combat team, Go for Broke for Veterans (GB4V) is spearheaded by Congressman Mark Takano, Chair of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee.
The goal of Go for Broke for Veterans (GB4V) is to ensure that veterans have a powerful voice in Congress. By empowering veterans, raising awareness and building public support for a pro-veteran agenda, GB4V is focused on increasing access to affordable healthcare, secure housing and ongoing educational opportunities for our nation’s heroes.
