Problems are brewing with stale kegs

NBWA Chief Economist Lester Jones spoke with a local Kansas news outlet about the problem stale kegs are causing for the beer industry. Beer distributors, retailers and brewers are working together to track down and dispose of over 10 million gallons of expired beer from the start of the pandemic and there’s still the uncertainty of what will happen if bars and restaurants have to close down again. Pride-themed brew

In celebration of Pride Month this June, Goose Island collaborated with Shea Couleé from RuPaul’s Drag Race. The brew is called Shea Coul-Alé and is a 4.2% ABV dry-hopped wheat ale with bright lemon notes.

New beer launches on hold

Last week, Sovos ShipCompliant, a company that helps alcohol brands comply with regulators, announced the brewers it works with had registered 43.4% fewer new products this April and May compared to the same period last year. This suggests that some brewers are putting a hold on launching new products due to the pandemic.
