John, I'd like to share some inspiring photos with you so you can see the direct impact of your compassion and support. I hope you'll take a minute to scroll through and take a look at what you make possible. đź’›

On behalf of everyone at the IRC, thank you for all you do to create joy, hope and peace for families going through the most difficult moments of their lives.

Play transcends culture, geography and language.

With 234 million children around the world affected by crises needing educational support—37% of which are not in school at all—play offers a powerful way to reach children affected by conflict and displacement. I wanted to share some stories showing how the power of play is making a huge impact for children across the world:

📍Uganda, Ethiopia and Tanzania
Several young children participating in interactive activities in a classroom

Through the PlayMatters program, the IRC and LEGO Foundation are delivering play-based learning opportunities that build essential life skills, improve mental health and resilience and encourage a love of learning in 800,000 children across Uganda, Ethiopia and Tanzania.

📍Jordan

With support from the MacArthur Foundation and LEGO Foundation, the IRC has partnered with Sesame Workshop to deliver Ahlan Simsim ("Welcome Sesame" in Arabic)—the largest early childhood initiative intervention in the history of humanitarian response.

📍Ukraine
Four children participating in an interactive game at a Safe Healing Learning Space

In Ukraine, IRC staff lead internally displaced children in an interactive game at a Safe Healing Learning Space. These sessions are an important opportunity for children to achieve a sense of normalcy during a time of war.

I hope these photos brightened your day as much as they did mine.💛 Learn more about how children and their education are affected by crisis—and how the IRC's learn through play programs are making a difference.

We are grateful for you, John.
