I hope you enjoyed a great weekend with your family and friends.

We are back at work confirming nominees and the budget for next year. Last week we pulled $9 billion out of the spending for this year, dedicating it all to deficit reduction. That is the first time in 35 years that spending has been cut during the fiscal year. On Friday night, Senate Republicans and spouses had dinner with the President to reflect on all that has been accomplished in the past six months. The changes in our tax policy, farm policy, border security, deficit reduction, and much more have been exceptional. We have held more votes and moved more policy in the Senate than any Senate in the past three decades, and we are not done.

This week the Senate will continue to push forward on the nominations remaining for President Trump and our Judicial Branch. We have already confirmed more nominees since President Trump took office than ever before—despite the Democrats dragging their heels.

Keep praying for all of us as we do the work for the nation. I am grateful for the encouragement of so many across the state who want to Make America Great Again.
