Summer turkey survey
We may be in the lull between the spring and fall turkey seasons, but there is a good reason to keep an eye out for turkeys. Our summer turkey brood survey is underway and both hunters and the public are encouraged to participate.
The survey information provides useful information and estimates of nesting success and survival of young turkeys, or poults, during the summer season. The survey runs July 1 to August 31.
Remaining nonresident deer, antelope permits on sale starting July 23
Nonresident hunters will be able to buy any remaining limited deer or antelope permits (subject to availability) starting on July 23, 2025. All remaining permits for deer and antelope, including limited landowner permits, will go on sale on Aug. 6 through the close of applicable seasons. Learn more about these opportunities on our website.

Mark your calendar for fall hunting seasons!
What's the best thing to do on a hot day? Think about brisk fall mornings in the field or the blind with friends looking forward to hunting pheasants, ducks, doves, geese or squirrels. Get ready for these fall adventures with the 2025 Small Game and Waterfowl Guide, now available online. Printed copies will soon be available wherever permits are sold.
Waterfowl hunters are reminded that Harvest Information Program (HIP) registration starts Aug. 1. You will again have the option to choose between two daily bag limits when you register: Tier I is a traditional six-duck bag limit with species and sex restrictions. Tier II is a three-duck bag limit with no species or sex restrictions. Learn more on our website.
