The past six months have been anything but ordinary – Republicans have gutted federal agencies, slashed climate research, rolled back voting rights, and more.

But let me tell you about something that you might have missed: here in Michigan, we expanded reproductive freedom. We passed a ballot initiative to enshrine abortion rights in our state constitution, and we made sure our laws match our values.

I’m getting to work to tackle issues like this and deliver for Michiganders. But this work can’t happen nationwide without input from supporters like you. So please, join my Reproductive Rights Focus Group for the DGA today. Your input now will help shape our strategy around this issue ahead of 38 critical governors’ races this year and in 2026. I’ll need 25,000 grassroots supporters – including you, team – to participate ahead of our deadline at midnight tonight.

Democratic governors across the country have protected reproductive rights in their states by signing legislation to codify abortion rights into state law, ensuring medical professionals are safe from extradition, stockpiling abortion medication in the midst of Republican threats, and taking executive action to protect reproductive health and veto dangerous abortion bans.

We have the power to fight back, not only in our own states, but nationwide – including the two governors’ races in New Jersey and Virginia this November.

These will be the first two governors’ races of Trump’s second term, and the first gov races in NJ and VA since Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022 – and Democratic candidates Mikie Sherrill and Abigail Spanberger are strong, experienced women who are ready to fight like hell for our fundamental freedoms.

It’s clear, team: the future of reproductive freedom depends on the work we do this year and in 2026 to elect pro-choice Democrats who will protect reproductive health care from far-right attacks.

But that starts with having the strategy that we need to tackle the issues that matter, John. I’m counting on the support of this team to propel us.
