The Lincoln Project

Friend,

We’re noticing a trend here.

Whenever there’s a headline about Trump that looks like this:

Trump gets really angry and creates a headline like this:

Just so we’re clear here, Donald Trump is suing a newspaper for… truthfully reporting the news. That makes about as much sense as when he sold steaks out of a mall storefront.

The thing here is, Trump knows this story is real. He knows he sent Epstein that birthday card. He knows he drew a naked woman. He knows he signed his name to it. Trump’s only mad because people found out about it.

This isn’t how the press is supposed to work in this country. The press is supposed to report the news. The press is not supposed to be under a constant threat from the President of the United States who just has an ego problem.

So, while Trump abuses his presidential power (for the millionth time), our focus is going to be on one thing: making sure this story doesn’t go away.

We want voters to see this, and we want voters to understand that it’s not a “hoax,” as Trump calls it.

Chip in to amplify this story >>
