BP is proposing another massive, risky drilling project in the Gulf

Fifteen years ago, BP’s Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico became the worst marine oil spill in U.S. history. Now, BP is asking the federal government to allow it to drill even deeper for oil in the Gulf of Mexico with its proposed Kaskida drilling project.

Let the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management know that the proposed Kaskida project poses significant risks for the Gulf, and it threatens the public health of Gulf communities, numerous types of marine life, and the regional economy.

Trump’s EPA cancelled hundreds of environmental justice grants across the country

PUSH Buffalo was awarded $20 million by the federal government to fund a project that would build hubs in under-resourced neighborhoods that would help communities weather blackouts and other emergencies, especially in snowy New York winters. This project is part of the Environmental and Climate Justice Grant Program created by the Inflation Reduction Act meant to address longstanding pollution issues and invest in community resilience.
