Donald Trump signed his Big Ugly Bill into law — and team, it is a disaster for Wisconsinites and so many Americans.

This bill rips away health care from 17 million Americans and over a quarter million Wisconsinites — all to pay for massive tax cuts for billionaires and big corporations. It will have particularly devastating impacts on rural Wisconsin and rural America.

We know that some of the hospitals and clinics on the edge of closure are in rural communities. We’re already seeing notices of impending closures of rural hospitals around the country due to the Medicaid cuts in this Big Ugly Bill.

As Wisconsinites and Americans learned more about this bill, it became less and less popular. And the people who voted for it need to be held accountable.

In the meantime, I will never stop fighting to bring costs down for working families, to make healthcare more affordable and more accessible to all Wisconsinites, and to make sure families receive the food assistance and nutrition they need.
