Sometimes that opportunity is right in their own backyard, and they just need the tools to seize it,” Andrew said in a statement. “The SUPPLY Act would help New Yorkers access financing and provide the flexibility to turn in law suites, converted garages, and other Accessory Dwelling Units on their property into spaces that build long term value. This bipartisan bill gives families the chance to invest, grow equity, and strengthen our local economy.” Andrew remains committed to advancing solutions that support Long Island families and grow the economy. ANDREW IN THE NEWS House hearing will use Stuxnet to search for novel ways to confront OT cyberthreats " Congress is set to revisit Stuxnet — the malware that wreaked havoc on Iran’s nuclear program 15 years ago — next week in the hopes that the pioneering attack can guide today’s critical infrastructure policy debate, CyberScoop has learned. The House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection will hold a hearing July 22 to examine the operation that, according to independent reports, was carried out by the U.S. and Israeli governments and targeted Iran’s nuclear enrichment facilities in Natanz...'Stuxnet signaled a new age in the targeting of operational technology, an attack vector that has increased in complexity over the past 15 years,' Garbarino said in a statement to CyberScoop. 'This moment showed how malware can be used to target and potentially cripple critical infrastructure operations, which has raised the stakes for critical infrastructure resilience for sectors across the globe.' Stuxnet also kicked off an era where many countries — and the United States in particular — have seen its domestic critical infrastructure come under threat from criminal and nation-state hacking groups. 'Today, bad actors will not hesitate to use malware to gain a foothold in the services Americans rely on every day and wreak havoc on our way of life,' Garbarino said. 'Given increasing threats to critical infrastructure from actors such as Volt Typhoon, it is important to examine the legacy of Stuxnet –– the world’s first cyber weapon.' Mazzei - a hometown hero, decorated World War II veteran, and former prisoner of war - with the renaming of a local park in his memory. Born and raised in Blue Point, Mazzei served as a top turret gunner aboard the B-24 “Liberty Belle.” After surviving a crash in the North Sea, he was captured and held at Stalag 17 until his liberation in 1945. He returned home, raised a family, and continued serving his community as a police officer and veterans’ advocate. Andrew provided the Mazzei family with a Congressional Certificate and a flag flown over the Capitol in recognition of his service and sacrifice. Ribbon Cutting in Ronkonkoma The Pink Fin, a new restaurant in Ronkonkoma’s Station Yards, is now open. Its opening highlights the growing revitalization of Ronkonkoma and the community’s expanding small business scene. Andrew provided a Congressional Certificate of Recognition to mark the occasion and he remains committed to supporting small businesses and driving economic growth across Long Island. Soldier Ride Brings Community Together in Support of Wounded Warriors Soldier Ride Babylon once again brought the community together to honor and support our nation’s wounded warriors. The annual ride gives veterans and active duty service members the opportunity to ride alongside supporters from across Long Island. It stands as a powerful show of gratitude and unity. Riders began at Babylon Town Hall and followed an eighteen mile route to Overlook Beach, where the event ended with a community barbecue. Andrew remains committed to standing with those who serve, and Team Garbarino was proud to take part in this year’s ride in support of that commitment.
