It sounds unbelievable, but it’s true:

The Executive Office of the President has no inspector general.

That means there’s no independent watchdog over the Oval Office, no internal accountability, and no real oversight. That’s incredibly dangerous, especially when we’ve got a president who’s already shown he won’t hesitate to abuse his power for personal gain.

That’s why Adam Schiff has introduced the Bringing Executive Accountability, Clarity, and Oversight Now (BEACON) Act. The BEACON Act would establish an inspector general to oversee the Executive Office of the President and finally bring real accountability where it’s been missing for far too long.

Inspectors general already play a crucial role throughout the federal government. They’re tasked with rooting out corruption, enforcing ethical standards, and exposing abuses of power. There’s no reason the White House should be exempt.
