Hi John,
These last weeks it’s been impossible to miss the harsh reality of the climate crisis in the news. From Syrian wildfires, to Texan floods, to the heatwaves sweeping across Europe, extreme weather is putting the lives of vulnerable people, outdoor-workers and many more at risk.

We desperately need a just green transition before the climate crisis gets any worse. And it’s vital those responsible pay for what they’ve done – the oil and gas giants that continue to profiteer while wrecking the environment and the super-rich. It’s shocking that the richest 1% of people are responsible for over double the carbon pollution of the poorest half of the global population.
Right now, we’re working on an urgent, mass mobilisation of people under the banner of Make Them Pay in the build-up to the Budget and the COP30 climate talks. Will you be part of this critical movement today by donating £5? You can help strengthen the call to tax the super-rich, protect workers and make polluters pay.
Yes, I'll donate
Make Them Pay is not just about the climate crisis. It’s about seriously addressing the imbalance of wealth and power that is so destructive, and our broken economic system that got us here.
It’s about pushing for eye-watering excess wealth to go towards our schools, the NHS, care services and welfare – as well as tackling the climate emergency. About making sure people don’t have to make impossible choices, like between paying their unfair energy bill or eating. It’s about people like you and me standing together for a more equal country, and a more equal world.

Stand together for social justice and radical change

We’re told the money isn’t there for a just green transition. That there aren’t enough funds for our public services. But the money is there – last year UK billionaires amassed a further £35 million every day, on top of the wealth they already have.

The power and wealth of the super-rich is growing by the day, and big oil is still banking billions each year. If we don’t fight back, communities will pay for billionaires to become trillionaires as the climate collapses around us. Can you donate today to help demand our government acts, and taxes the super-rich and fossil fuel companies?

Donate
Ordinary people like you and me are the majority. It’s urgent we act, and act together. That’s why we’re pushing for a mass mobilisation across social justice issues, from the climate crisis to public services, demanding polluting corporations and the super-rich are the ones who pay to fix our unequal society.

Together we can fight for taxes on the super-rich, protections for workers, and making polluters pay. By donating today you’ll be helping us organise a mass protest this autumn, raise awareness about the Make Them Pay movement, expose the injustice we’re fighting through the media, and bring more of the public on board.

Thank you for all you do for our campaigns.

Best wishes
Izzie McIntosh,
Climate campaigner at Global Justice Now
