To conclude “Crypto Week” in Congress, more than 100 Democrats joined Republicans in passing two massive giveaways to the corporate-backed Crypto lobby yesterday.

With pressure from Democratic sell-outs like Josh Gottheimer, Ritchie Torres, and Don Davis — whose campaigns have collectively received millions in donations from the crypto lobby — 78 Democrats joined every Republican to vote for the CLARITY Act, with even more (102 Democrats) voting for the GENIUS Act.

Justice Democrats like Reps. Ayanna Presley and Delia Ramirez loudly opposed these bills and exposed them for what they really are: a green light to self-enriching crypto schemes.

Instead of stopping Trump’s personal crypto grift and properly regulating the industry, these bills endanger consumers, open the floodgates for even more fraud and even less oversight to boost corporate profits, and make crypto billionaires even richer — all while allowing a taxpayer-funded bailout when crypto inevitably fails.

In summary: They profit, we pay.

The passage of these bills comes after pro-crypto super PACs spent more than $170 million to influence elections last cycle. The crypto lobby effectively bought this legislation, John.

By becoming the biggest corporate spender in the 2024 election cycle, Big Crypto secured enough votes on both sides of the aisle to give Silicon Valley and Wall Street new ways to get richer by endangering your life savings and our economy.

More than 100 corporate Democrats threw working-class people under the bus and legitimized Trump’s crypto scheme by supporting these bills. They don’t deserve their seats in Congress, and they need to be primaried in 2026.
