![]() Take it from a former SEC prosecutor: I know a quid pro quo when I see one. Back in February, Donald Trump began his crusade against major law firms that once represented clients or causes he opposed. He issued Executive Orders revoking attorneys’ security clearances, canceling government contracts, and blacklisting lawyers from future employment with the federal government. Eventually, nine major law firms reached an implicit agreement with the Trump administration: A carve-out from Trump’s Executive Orders, in exchange for nearly $1 BILLION in free legal services to use at the President’s discretion. Of course, this implicit agreement is grossly unconstitutional and illegal. Trump essentially demanded a bribe — and these firms caved without a second thought. So just this week, I sent them a letter with a simple demand: Refute Donald Trump’s claims that your firm will do whatever he wants, or admit you’re breaking the law. This kind of naked corruption is exactly what’s wrong with our government. It’s yet another example of public officials and big corporations negotiating behind closed doors, all while regular families get screwed over. That’s why I’ve rejected this corporate cronyism since day one. Our campaign doesn’t take a dime of corporate PAC money, because I want my constituents to know for a FACT that I work for them, not the rich and powerful.
