This month Ilhan will be taking part in a historic event:

For the first time, all four Muslim members of Congress are coming together for A Night of Muslim Power, a celebration of Muslim representation across the country and the Muslim community’s role in building power for the progressive movement.

We are reaching out to this team today to ask for your help in raising funds to support our great Muslim members of Congress and their work to fight the Trump administration:

Keith Ellison became the first Muslim member of Congress in 2006, at a time when Muslims in America faced intensified discrimination and many challenges. Keith was followed shortly thereafter by Andre Carson in 2008.

Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib then made history in 2018 as the first Muslim women to represent their communities in Congress — defying the odds and sending a message to the far-right, the media, and the entire establishment.

Now, as we face down constant threats to our communities from the Trump administration, it’s more important than ever that we organize to protect the progress that has been made.

Especially as Muslim leaders and voices are leading the way on the pressing issues of our time, from immigration, to the cost of living, to US involvement in the genocide in Gaza and in needless wars around the world.
