When 139 EPA employees raised concerns about the agency’s new direction under Administrator Lee Zeldin, they were met with retaliation — not reform.
Instead of engaging in dialogue, Zeldin suspended them. Called them “unlawful.” Attempted to silence their voices. This isn’t just wrong. It’s illegal.
House Democrats on the Energy and Commerce Committee — including SEEC Co-Chair Rep. Paul Tonko and SEEC Member Rep. Yvette Clarke — aren’t standing by.
They just sent a blistering letter to the EPA demanding the reinstatement of every employee wrongfully placed on leave and called out Zeldin’s actions for what they are: blatantly illegal, retaliatory, and a threat to open government.
This is exactly why SEEC PAC exists: to support bold, climate-forward champions who speak up for integrity and protect those who do the same.
Our planet and the people who dedicate their careers to protecting it can’t afford this kind of political retaliation. We have to push back right away.
Thanks to your help in 2024, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 119th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future.
