I hope you have been doing well and that you had a wonderful weekend celebrating Father's Day. I was blessed to have had the pleasure of having two wonderful men in my life. My father who was the perfect example of generosity, strength, and kindness and my husband, Charles, who has been a wonderful partner and father to our four children. I am forever grateful to both of them for the impact they have made on my life.
This was a busy week for Team Young as we continue to engage with the 39th District, dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. We joined many others from our area by focusing on giving back, sharing, and speaking out in order to make our community a better place to live.
Below is an update on what our campaign has been up to over the past week.
Celebrating Juneteenth Last Friday, we as a nation celebrated Juneteenth -- a celebration of emancipation, commemoration of those who fought for freedom, and chance for education. It reminds us to continue fighting for freedom and equality in this great country.
39th District Pitching In I was honored to join Councilmember Rhonda Shader and the City of Placentia to assist in their food distribution program that provides food assistance to families in need during these difficult times.
Town Hall For this week's town hall, I was joined by Orange County Sheriff Don Barnes to give an update on current events resulting from the killing of George Floyd and how the department is handling the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Re-opening the 39th District A number of industries -- from gyms to schools -- were given the green light to open (provided they follow the rules and safety guidelines for reopening).
California is now requiring face masks in most public spaces. As we take steps towards recovery, let's continue to follow social distancing guidelines to stop the spread of COVID-19. Together we can keep our families, neighbors, and communities healthy and allow our economy to continue to open.
COVID-19 Resources
As we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, there are resources and information that can be helpful in staying safe, helping others, and getting help during these hard times. See our COVID-19 resource page to find out more.
Volunteer on Our Campaign During this national health crisis, we have made major changes to our campaign. Our volunteer efforts are now completely online. This allows volunteers to continue to help from their homes. You can sign up to volunteer by contacting Field Director, Taylor Zanazzi at [email protected].
Thank you for all the support you have shown throughout our campaign. As always, I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Please stay safe and healthy. I look forward to working with you to fight for our community and work to ensure the American Dream, I was so lucky to achieve, is available for everyone.
