John,
Today, the Senate voted to claw back
billions of dollars in funding, including
$1.1 billion for nonpartisan, independent public broadcasting, a critical resource that rural communities like ours rely on every day.
We depend on public broadcasting for so much: quality local journalism, educational children’s programming, and even lifesaving emergency alerts. By gutting these funds, public radio and television stations across the country could be forced to close, including 14 here in Washington.
Marie voted against this harmful plan last month, and we know she’ll continue fighting for public broadcasting as it heads back to the House for a final vote.
But, we need to back her up and send a clear message right away: The majority of Americans don’t support cuts to public broadcasting. Add your name if you agree.
