Late July in Nebraska tends to be sweltering. The upside of this heat is you a reason to enjoy a wide variety of water-based recreation as you look to cool off. From pools, beaches and splashpads to Jet skis, paddleboards and kayaks, waters across the state are the place to be right now. Bighorn lottery ends soon

Nebraska hunters: Make sure to get your entry in for one of the most sought-after, unique hunting experiences the state offers — a bighorn hunt in the scenic pine ridge of Fort Robinson State Park. The lottery ends Aug.1, and includes guide service and up to four days of meals and lodging at the park. All entries help fund conservation efforts supporting bighorn sheep in Nebraska.
