In April 2023, Vote Forward volunteers sent tens of thousands of handwritten letters to voters across Wisconsin, encouraging them to participate in the state’s Supreme Court election.
That election determined the balance of power on the court—and earlier this month, that court struck down an abortion ban that had been on the books since 1849, before women even had the right to vote.
This is the impact of our work, friends. When turnout is high, we all have a greater say in shaping the future.
So with our letter writing campaign in this year’s Pennsylvania Supreme Court election already underway, we’re counting on volunteers like you to help us replicate the impact we made in Wisconsin.
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has made rulings with enormous implications for voting rights in recent years, including striking down the state’s gerrymandered congressional map in 2018 and extending the mail-in ballot deadline amidst the pandemic in 2020.
Taking action here is easy. You download pre-written letters, personalize a short message, and then store them somewhere safe until sending them during our mail window of September 2nd through October 28th.
If the cost of sending letters is a barrier, you can even request a stamp and letter kit and we’ll mail you 20 stamps, 20 letters, and 20 envelopes at no cost to you.
With your help, we’re going to keep boosting turnout, evolving our tactics, and rigorously testing our efforts to make sure we can continue showing up together for our democracy.
