Notice is hereby given that the Industrial Siting Division received an amendment request from Gold King Corp. (Permittee) on July 1, 2025 to amend the design of the above captioned project by adding a geomembrane to the compacted soil liner beneath the tailing management facility. On July 14, 2025 the Division received an amendment request to change the construction commencement date from April 2024 to first quarter 2026 and to extend the permit to December 31, 2026.
Pursuant to Condition #11 of their permit, the Administrator is providing public notice of the requested amendments to permit DEQ/ISC 22-07. It is the Director's intention to authorize the changes on or after August 12, 2025, unless the Division receives a request from parties to the permit by 5:00 pm on August 11, 2025 that these matters be heard by the Council. If the Division receives a request to be heard by the Council, these matters will be heard at the meeting on August 12, 2025.
