AZ-01 is one of the most competitive battlegrounds in the country. It's currently held by Republican David Schweikert, who's been in Congress for over a decade — and in that time, he's built a record of corruption, extremism, and hostility to basic rights.
He voted to ban abortion nationwide. He's tried to gut Social Security and Medicare. He's even been formally reprimanded by the House for multiple ethics violations, including misuse of taxpayer dollars.
And yet, he keeps clinging to power, because this district is always close. In 2022, he won by just 3,195 votes.
