Justice Democrats

John, sigh. Another day, another establishment Democrat bashing young, progressive, Democratic rising star Zohran Mamdani.

When asked if there’s room for candidates like Zohran in the Democratic Party, failed presidential candidate and former Democratic Congressman Dean Phillips said, “No.”

Post from Summer Lee (@SummerForPA) on X. The post reads: 'Behind Zohran was the most voters in NYC primary history. These guys aren't just rejecting him, but the millions moved to electoral action by candidates like him. Maybe our big tent should have less millionaire nepo heirs & more fighters for the millions of working class people.' The post quotes a post from from @Acyn reading: 'Question: Is there room for you and Mamdani in the Democratic Party? Phillips: The answer, ultimately, I think, is no. When you have socialists in the Democratic Party, I don't know how anybody…'. Below the quote is a video screenshot from CNN. It shows a split-screen interview with a host and former U.S. Representative Dean Phillips. The chyron reads: 'ENDORSE OR OPPOSE? DEMOCRATS GRAPPLE WITH MAMDANI'S CANDIDACY. Dean Phillips (D) Former U.S. Representative for Minnesota.'

Justice Democrats’ own Rep. Summer Lee put it best: Why does the Democratic Party keep listening to millionaires instead of the voters and working-class people demanding change?

As Zohran continues to be attacked by millionaires and billionaires like Dean Phillips and Mark Cuban, the facts are clear: he won more total votes in the New York primary than ever before in history, because of — not in spite of — his commitment to tackling the rising costs of living for working-class and poor New Yorkers through bold solutions. And he did it while going up against $25 million spent by Super PACs.

Zohran’s win and surging popularity among voters prove that this is the way forward. If Democratic incumbents and party leaders don’t want to listen and adapt, then it’s on us to vote in a new generation that will.

Justice Democrats already launched our first 2026 primary challenger, and we’re gearing up to endorse even more — but since we don’t take a dime from corporate PACs, we’re counting on grassroots support from folks like you.

Will you help us take on the corporate establishment and send more fighters for working-class people to Congress by pitching in your first $5?

The more we raise from emails like this one, the more candidates we can endorse and elect in 2026!

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
