A federal appeals court ruled that private citizens can’t sue under a core section of the Voting Rights Act.
That’s a massive break from decades of settled law. And it would mean that only the U.S. Department of Justice—not you, not your community, not organizations that work for justice—could challenge racial discrimination at the ballot box.
It’s a radical, dangerous precedent, and one that’s headed straight for the Supreme Court.
