Be Part of the Solution

Actions you can take to help your loved one, your family or your community.

Thank you to this community for taking action with us so far this year. Below you will find:

- An update from our policy team on recent changes that could impact access to addiction care
- New video to help families understand their treatment rights under the Parity Act
- Podcast on talking to young people about substance use

Together, We’ll Keep Advocating for Accessible Addiction Care

As you may have heard, the budget reconciliation bill that includes harmful changes to Medicaid has been signed into law by President Trump.

While this is not the outcome we wanted, we want to express our deep gratitude to this community for repeatedly contacting Congress throughout this process. Your voices were (and are!) vital for educating people about why Medicaid is so critical for addressing addiction.

Importantly, these policies are not going into effect just yet. If you or a loved one need addiction treatment or other services through Medicaid, you can continue to get that care.

As always, we will continue to fight for policies that ensure accessible, affordable, quality care for people with substance use disorders. And we will need your help. There will be many upcoming opportunities to use your voice to mitigate harm and reduce the impact of the Medicaid changes on addiction care, as well as to influence other proposed changes to addiction services.

Some things are still unknown about the new law, and we will continue to analyze its impact, but you can see our latest summary here ([link removed] ) . And keep an eye out for future advocacy opportunities here ([link removed] ) .

Thank you again for all your inspiring advocacy. We are grateful for your partnership in this critical work.
