Our work on NEA Boycott is significant

Dear John,

We are so grateful to everyone who has expressed support for ADL and anger at the NEA teachers’ union for seeking to boycott our educational content, including widely respected Holocaust education, antisemitism and anti-bias lessons and resources that make a real difference in the classroom.

  • ADL supporters have sent nearly 200,000 letters to the NEA executive committee, calling on them to change course and reject the resolution passed by their delegates last week. **It’s not too late to add your name and write to the NEA!
  • Nearly 400 Jewish groups including national and local organizations, Holocaust museums, schools and synagogues joined ADL in signing a letter expressing their outrage at this step to isolate Jewish students, educators and their allies.
  • We are supporting hundreds of Jewish educators across the country who feel attacked and isolated. As one wrote in to us: “If the NEA does not reverse this horrible act, I and other Jewish teachers will be leaving the union.”

We need the NEA Executive Committee to reject this boycott, a message Jonathan shared during a meeting yesterday with NEA President Becky Pringle and in a Wall Street Journal Op-Ed just today. We can’t be silent. We are working with educators and parents to respond to campaigns in places like New Jersey and Chicago where teachers’ unions are trying to block school districts from working with ADL and other Jewish groups.

So right now, if you have not yet sent a note to the NEA executive committee, please do so.
