Earlier in the year, Donald Trump tried to shut down the Department of Education only to be stopped by the courts.
But now, the Trump's judges in the Supreme Court just reverse that ruling, allowing him to take an axe to the agency that supports our students, teachers, and national education system.
Justice Sonia Sotomayor didn’t mince words — she warned this plan will “cripple” the Department and cause “untold harm.”
John, we’re talking about the agency that helps millions of students afford college. The agency that enforces civil rights protections for LGBTQ+ students, students with disabilities, and students of color. The agency that helps level the playing field for every child in America — no matter their zip code.
Congress has the power to stop this, but they need to hear from us now!
